Legal Advisor - Inhouse - Fund Services - Ireland
Purpose of Role:
• To provide legal support to the Investments Division with particular focus on supporting investments in OTC derivatives trading for all funds facilitated by UCITS III;
• Working from within the Investments Division to develop best practice procedures for dealing with all types of derivative transactions.
• Assisting investments in managing defaults accuracy in our fixed income portfolios.
Brief Description of Accountabilities:
• Take custody of and responsibility for the negotiation of maintenance of all ISDA documentation governing the Company’s investment activities;
• Assist in taking responsibility for the Company’s ISDA membership and the continuing education of the relevant investments, operations and legal staff on ISDA related matters;
• Devise a best practice legal due diligence process for all ABS investments;
• Assist the process of protecting our investments in the event of default;
• Work closely with Compliance & Risk in identifying and resolving legal risk issues associated with our investment universe;
• Support the Company’s involvement in CDO transactions whether as manager, co-manager or investor;
• Liaise with external counsel, regulators and other consultants to achieve the above objectives;
• Assist the product development, product implementation functions in the development of products utilising sophisticated investment instruments or techniques;
Experience and Qualifications
• A common law legal training;
• Experience of advising Fund Managers of the legal risks associated with investing in all types of derivative instruments;
• Experience of bankruptcy laws throughout the EU, of ISDA negotiation issues and credit issues generally;
• Minimum 4-5 years PQE
