Head of Fund Accounting - Money Markets - Ireland

You will be responsible for multiple operations groups who provide fund administration services to Money Market clients.

Your direct reports are Group Managers, will oversee the service delivered by various operations teams. The nature and number of client relationships as well as the number of assigned personnel may change due to organisational growth.
You will ensure that service is provided in line with client service level agreements and regulatory requirements, and is in accordance with agreed operating procedures.

This service must be delivered in a cost efficient manner in a tightly controlled environment, which ensures exposure to operating risk is minimized. Strong technical knowledge, proficient accounting and analytical skills, demonstrated ability to think strategically, and high focus on controls and risk mitigation are mandatory.

You are required to keep abreast of business developments impacting clients and to assess new business from a resource, skills and risk perspective. This role involves active communication with senior management of both clients and prospective clients, which is coordinated together with the internal business development and client servicing teams.

This responsibility requires the ability to evaluate new business needs and changed service requirements, and as well as the possession of strong presentation and communication skills. You will be required to lead and manage a team of operations managers, assistant managers, supervisors and fund administration staff.

This role includes the ability to mentor and develop personnel, to motivate, to provide direction and constructive feedback, to set job objectives, to monitor work in progress, to ensure staff receive appropriate training and are adequately skilled to successfully perform the work responsibilities assigned to them. Strong leadership and team management skills are required. You are responsible for ensuring preparation of timely and accurate MIS and management reports related to the book of business.

You will represent your clients in meetings with external parties such as IFSRA, external fund auditors, client Board of Directors, fund investment advisors, fund senior management, trustees, custodians and legal counsel.

As previously noted, this role requires strong communication skills, including verbal, written and presentational.

Responsibilities

Accountable for high standard of delivery to clients on agreed timeframes. Take a lead role in the management of existing/potential top tier clients relating to all aspects of client fund accounting and valuation services for the Money Market Team.
Responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients at senior levels by regular interface and advance operational planning for the Money Market Team
Possess well developed networking skills and have ability to manage high value clients and relevant personnel firmly, constructively and appropriately when requests need either to be implemented in a timeframe, or not implemented at all, to suit the overall operations of the business.
Ensure that accounting operating environment can accommodate growth in the number of new clients and new funds serviced while ensuring client service standards are attained and risks managed; with no impact to the existing book of business.
Ensure that valuation delivery output is operating at appropriate efficiency / unit cost levels as determined and tracked with reference to local, Global CLIENT and relevant external third party benchmarks, while continuing to meet client service delivery levels.
Work worldwide with the accounting organisation to formulate and implement plans to achieve more efficient and cost effective operating models for your clients
Develop programmes to ensure a process of continuous improvement in the depth and strength of your clients accounting services capability with focus on continuous succession planning, management development and technical training
Have the business knowledge and innovative skills to implement significant organisational change. Drive implementation of agreed local process changes to achieve operating efficiency in the accounting functions. Prime responsibility to ensure IT developments and operational changes that are required to take place are effectively highlighted with detailed specification and implemented within reasonable timeframes.
Interface with your client product group located in Ireland to develop accounting platform and product offering for the Money Market Team.
To ensure there is no internal or external audit issues within areas of responsibility.
The job holder will be required to lead and manage a large team of specialist managers and team members. The role requires the ability to mentor and develop personnel, to motivate and provide direction and to ensure all staff receive appropriate training and progress their development.
