Programme Director / Commercial Manager - Renewables -Ireland
Our client is currently looking to recruit an experienced Programme Manager for one of the largest onshore wind farm developers in the UK & Ireland. This role will be based in their Dublin offices, the successful candidate will be responsible for the management, and the delivery of their portfolio of Energy projects. They will be expected to analyse the business opportunities and threats, lead the development of procurement strategies and the development of information memorandums’ for the various projects.
Key responsibilities:
• Review and assess the financial, planning, environmental and technical elements of new projects (predominately wind).
• Develop, implement and monitor a Risk Register to identify project risks
• Deliver Best Practice in Performance Management in support of the Capital Programme
• Procurement of and Management of Specialist Technical Service Providers
• Formulate and execute negotiation strategies that take full account of supply requirements, whilst ensuring cost reductions.
• Analyze trends and forecasts within the market place with respect to suppliers, price/cost, quality, availability and technological change.
• Implement Best Practice in Construction Safety Management and Environmental Management.
• Detailed Programming of the Projects
• Leadership and Management of a team of Project Managers to Deliver the portfolio of projects
• Deliver Planning Permission for all key projects.
• Implement Best Practice in Stakeholder Management
Typical candidate
• Considerable experience in the Renewable Energy Environment in a project management/procurement and/or business development role.
• Experience of managing a portfolio of renewable energy projects from planning, procurement, construction, commissioning through to commencement of operations
• Experience of dealing with Local Authorities and other Key Statutory Authorities
• Have Excellent Commercial and Negotiation Skills
• Experience of Managing a Team of Technical Experts both In-House and External Service Providers
• Experience of Managing Diverse and Complex Stakeholders / Service Providers
• Strong Understanding of Planning, Permitting and Delivery of Grid Connections for Energy Projects
• Strong Understanding of Project Financing Models
• High Energy and Commitment to Best Practice and Continuous Improvement
